On a tight budget? Lets see what Direct Current (DC) technology can do to keep you functioning in a tough environment.
Direct Current (DC) appliances are typically NOT as powerful as Alternating Current (AC) ones, but they keeps you functioning in a tough environment for a small fraction of the cost. 1 battery & NO inverter! Solar Jooce has successfully test powered a whole range of DC appliances simultaneously on a single 12 volt, 200Ah deep cycle battery. From heavy loads such as Microwaves & pressing irons to lighter loads such as LED lights and almost everything in between. Do more with less - African ingenuity (Ai).
Welcome to the future of ultra low cost high impact solar solutions designed for the masses. See how a two bedroom flat has been powered with a single 12volt, 200Ah battery and absolutely NO inverter. This has been a Pan African project tried and successfully tested since June 2012 with ZERO aid funding.
Established in February 2008, Solar Jooce is a social enterprise, dedicated to improving the quality of life of rural communities in Nigeria that have little or no access to electricity. In 17 days (starting May 26, 2010) Solar Jooce drove across all 36 states in Nigeria to replace kerosene lanterns with solar lamp/phone charging units. The expedition was tagged SOLAR FOR THE MASSES.
Solar Jooce aims to empower rural dwellers by creating practical awareness for the potential of solar power in transforming their lives, and to underline the fact that fossil fuels such as kerosene are dangerous to health and the environment.
A long-term objective for Solar Jooce will be to identify and select hardworking, illiterate [or barely literate] rural women for training as basic Solar installers & troubleshooters.
This will create jobs for an unlikely segment (women, poor people), spread the use of solar energy amongst the rural populace, and begin to lift rural areas out of a needless cycle of poverty.
